Enzyme for bioscouring: a new biotech concept for the pre-treatment of cellulosics and cellulosic blends.

TANAZYM™ EVO is a new product for the pre-treatment of cellulosic fibers and cellulosic blends. It is used for biological scouring processes (bioscouring) to pre-treat cotton yarn, cotton knit goods and cotton wovens for continuous and discontinuous processes. The enzyme biologically breaks down the pectin’s present in cellulosics.

The process can be combined with enzymatic desizing. To ensure optimum hydrophilic properties, by elimination of the calcium-pectinate complex, the addition of a biodegradable extraction agent such as PLEXENE® PREP 01 to the first rinse bath is necessary. To ensure maximum wetting out of the goods, a nonionic wetting agent / surfactant should be used, e.g. TANAWET® Q.
