Acid buffer mixture with dispersing and chelating action for use when dyeing polyester, polyester/wool and polyester/cellulosics.

Many disperse dyes have more or less pronounced pH sensitivity. In other words, the dye yield is lower unless the pH is held at pH 4,0 - 6,0 throughout the dyeing process. This can result in poor reproducibility.

Another problem occurs if the dyebath contains copper and iron ions. This may cause a change of shade or reduction in colour strength (e.g. with C.I. Disperse Red 060).

TANACID™ AB 02 sets a stable pH range and ensures it is held constant throughout dyeing. It also has very good chelating power for heavy metal ions but does not demetalise metal - complex dyes in the dyebath. A change of shade and dye hydrolysis can therefore be avoided.

TANACID™ AB 02 also has good dispersing capacity for disperse dyes. Because of its chelating and dispersing action, using TANACID™ AB 02 as a buffer ensures excellent reproducibility of dyeing.
