Very strong acid buffering and chelating agent, supporting the required low pH for acid enzymatic desizing and bioscouring using TANAZYM™ ID, removing alkaline earth metals and heavy metal impurities from cotton.
PLEXENE® AC is an excellent auxiliary for setting the correct pH for acid enzymatic desizing and bioscouring using the TANAZYM™ ID.
Its strong neutralisation effect for bicarbonate levels in the production water (see graph below) normally provides the required pH for the AC-ID system (pH 3,0 – 3,5).
At the same time, it shows a very strong dispersing and extraction effect for impurities on cellulosic fibres like calcium, magnesium and heavy metal compounds.
PLEXENE® AC strongly improves the absorbency and whiteness of the fibres and avoid catalytic damage during subsequent peroxide bleaching.
A PLEXENE® AC acid demineralisation, in combination with the TANAZYM™ ID, can be followed by low alkali peroxide bleaching replacing all kinds of subsequent alkaline boil-off of high alkaline bleaching procedures.
