Within TANATEX Chemicals B.V., the Purchasing Department is responsible for the planned availability of specified raw materials, resources and services at optimum cost price, thereby contributing to the timely delivery of solutions to our customers. Furthermore, the department plays a crucial role in obtaining information from our suppliers to meet our sustainability objectives. This requires insight into the chemicals supply market and active translation of changes in the raw material market to our business positions.

Work-activities and responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Define, manage, and oversee contracts, including conditions, change management, and cross-departmental alignment
  • Supplier Management: Handle strategic supplier relationships, negotiate purchasing conditions, manage agreements, and evaluate supplier performance to secure competitive advantages and implement corrective actions to maintain quality standards
  • Internal Customer Collaboration: Act as a business partner to internal stakeholders (SCM, Business Units, R&D, QS) to address quality issues, ensure alignment, and manage complaints or claims
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Performance: execute strategic plans and achieve goals in close engagement with various stakeholders.
  • Sustainability and Compliance: Drive supplier sustainability initiatives and ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly Ecovadis
  • Budgeting and Sourcing: Provide insights for annual purchasing budget planning and advise on market trends and price developments. Analyse cost drivers, market dynamics, and alternative suppliers for medium-risk areas to guide decision-making

What we are looking for in you

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration or economics
  • Preferably, 2 years of experience in purchasing/procurement roles, with experience in supplier negotiation and contract management within the Chemical Industry
  • Successfully completed NEVI 1 (or similar) training
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and matrix organization to meet organizational goals
  • Independent, strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills in Dutch and English and preferably German
